Dreamin’ Events: Small but Mighty Salesforce Community Conferences

For the first time, Accounting Seed attended two Dreamin’ events—Texas Dreamin’ and Tahoe Dreamin’—and they did not disappoint! While we love the energy and excitement of the big Salesforce World Tour and Dreamforce events, the local feel of these events gave us a chance to get to know fellow Trailblazers in a new way.

Dreamin’ events bring together local Salesforce users, employees, and partners with a focus on topics related to Salesforce design, development, administration, architecture, and user experience. From networking opportunities to hands-on training, Dreamin’ events provide unique and valuable experiences to take a deeper dive into all things Salesforce.

Here are the top 4 things we learned from Texas and Tahoe Dreamin’ 2023:

  1. Less is more: Like most Dreamin’events, you won’t run into thousands of people like you would at a Salesforce World Tour or Dreamforce. The Dreamin’ events we attended had anywhere from 300-600 attendees each across two days. The smaller setting allowed for deeper and longer conversations, and the time to really learn from the speakers and attendees. While larger events are certainly valuable, Dreamin’ events provide an intimate setting for everyone to learn at their own pace, ask thoughtful questions, and take the time to learn tangible skills onsite.
  1. Live demos are key for learning: Zoom can only do so much! At Tahoe Dreamin’, Accounting Seed held two live small group demo sessions allowing attendees to see accounting on Salesforce first-hand and ask questions in person. There is nothing like being able to do a deep dive into automation, configurations, and reporting on Salesforce face-to-face—that’s where the real learning happens. But we weren’t the only ones doing hands-on demos. From SlackGPT to Salesforce Flow, there was no shortage of hands-on experiences that allowed attendees to walk away learning something new and, in turn, providing immediate value to their companies.
  1. Location, location, location: It’s not always possible to travel across the country to an event. That’s why Dreamin’ events are key for the Salesforce Community. They bring Salesforce-related content and training to you! From Tahoe to New York and everything in between, you’re bound to find a Dreamin’ event near you.
  1. Community is everything: While the Dreamin’ events we attended this year had networking built into the schedule, community was happening every second! With plenty of breaks in between sessions, we saw people bouncing ideas off each other, popping open their laptops to show something in Salesforce, and sharing what they learned at the previous demo. Dreamin’ events were founded on the premise that the Salesforce community is powerful when given the space to really network, and we experienced that first-hand. We’re walking away with new partnerships, innovative ideas, and more community.

We gained so much from Texas and Tahoe Dreamin’ and look forward to attending Florida Dreamin’ in the fall. Want to learn more about Salesforce Community events near you? Get the latest on Trailhead.
